Well, it must be epidemic season.  Not only are we at the later part of the cold and flu season, but the Johnny-come-lately virus known as Corona, COVID-19, or The Wuhan Flu has disrupted things more than a little.  Hopefully you are all well and staying safe.
I just wanted to take a minute to share some thoughts on ways to get through each day while we wait and see how this is all going to work out.

1. As you've heard, wash your hands often with anti-bacterial soap.
2. Keep your distance from people whether they have symptoms or not.
3. Avoid contact with the elderly and people with compromised immune systems, as you could infect others.
4. Contact your physician if you have chest congestion and/or a fever of 102 degrees or more.

Also, if you are home with your spouse and family more during this time, here are some tips to help get through that.

1. Try to find fun things to do as a family.
2. Kids - offer to learn a skill, like folding cloths, washing dishes, vacuuming the floor, cooking, etc.
Not only will this help your parents, it may keep them from choking you. It will also help prepare you for your life ahead (if you make it).
3. Avoid Romance Movies, as these involve cuddling and kissing and will encourage the spread of Corona.
4. Since there are shortages of toilet tissue, we need to come up with ways to make it go farther, like rationing. We don't encourage sharing.
If you have to use alternatives like leaves, please become familiar with the local plant life. This way you won't find out too late that you used poison ivy, which could be way worse than Corona.
5. To lessen the chance of infecting each other, don't make physical contact after picking your nose.

In all seriousness, through all of this, trust in Christ. If God has declared what happens at the end of the story, then He is well aware of what happens during the times leading up to it.

Isaiah 46:9-10  "Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; [I am] God, and there is no one like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And (declaring) from ancient times, things which have not been done, Saying, 'My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure'

Take this time to search the Scriptures for encouraging truths to share with your family. Start a devotional time for yourself and your spouse. Don''t miss this rare opportunity to seek Him, and to discover that He's more than enough, even during a pandemic.
God Bless You All,
Pastor Neil
